So what is a drone roof survey and inspection and what does it cover?

Quite simply, we will start the survey with looking inside your loft, this is to see how your roof is constructed. Once that is complete we fly one of our drones and capture all elements of the roof, this will be done in a logical sequence but will cover; the facias, verges, barge boards, gutter, abutments, the hips, ridges, any valleys, any lead work such as soakers & stepped flashings, the chimney, the flaunching, and finally the slates, tiles or coverings.

Many drone pilots, will automate this process and fly on autopilot, because its fast and don't appreciate the level of detail that architects, engineers and surveyors require but we appreciate every roof is unique! That is why we fly the mission manually, so no detail is missed and we can zoom in on the critical detail.

1. Accessibility: At one time in the past you went up on a set of ladders, or you hired in a MEWP of some type or hired in form or hired in some scaffolding. Worse still some people waited until they actually had a roof leak or damp coming in their building. 
2. Safety: With a drone roof survey and inspection you keep you feet firmly on the ground. The HSE states that a major accident cause is falls from height, so get a drone to collect the imagery to decide if someone really need to go up there in the first place.
3. Efficiency: The drones that we operate and run are able to be deployed in many cases in minutes and we can typically survey a roof in 45 minutes to 90 minutes. With no hire in costs for scaffolding or machinery, drone roof survey and inspections are more cost efficient for the customer or client.

A façade survey is a comprehensive inspection and assessment of a building’s exterior walls, including elements like windows, doors, cladding, and other structural architectural features. This type of survey is crucial for ensuring the safety, integrity, and aesthetic appeal of a building. 

Ever since the horrific events of Grenfell Tower on the 14th June 2017, façade surveys have been common place and an important part of accessing a building façade safely is a drone façade survey.

Our drones are equipped with high-resolution cameras and sensors and the drone will capture all areas of the building façade, drones can access hard-to-reach areas and provide detailed imagery, that means there will be no rope access, scaffolding or scissor lifts or cherry pickers until absolutely necessary.

However, if you would like an all all in one solution, then we work in partnership with Scopito. Scopito are based in Europe and the USA, and they are one biggest names in reporting on buildings and assets.

We will fly our roof survey or facade inspection mission, and once this is completed, the imagery will be uploaded to Scopito. Scopito have a team of qualified and competent UK based building inspectors who will comment on any defects found on your your roof or facade. Once completed, we will send all of the original imagery and a PDF report highlighting any defects.
